Clydebank FC manager Budgie McGhie was disappointed that another officiating decision cost his side points, after drawing 1-1 with away at Irvine Victoria on Saturday.

Calum Gow was sent off in the first half and after giving away a cheap goal, Nicky Little slotted in from the penalty spot in the last 10 minutes to claim a point for the Bankies.

But McGhie is beginning to get frustrated with numerous refereeing decisions going against his side.

He said: “We were just starting to come into it and create some stuff and, having watched the rerun on the footage, I’m not sure it’s a foul, let alone a goalscoring opportunity.

“The ref never gave it, it was the linesman. The Irvine Vics player has gone down very easily and the linesman bought it.

“It’s quite frustrating we get linesman who aren’t willing to make a big decision and then you get one that makes a decision like that.

“The ref said he had to go with his linesman’s decision, and we’re just getting a run of decisions against us recently.”

But he said his side should be doing better against this sort of opposition if they are to have hopes of getting promotion.

He added: “I thought we battled well, the goal was a mistake.

“Between the sending off and giving away a cheap goal, we made it really hard for ourselves. But a point is better than nothing.

“With the greatest respect to Irvine Vics, they gave their all but we’ve got to be looking at those places and trying to come back with the three points.

“Don’t get me wrong, Yoker are going well and Irvine Vics drew with them, and I imagine they will take points off some teams in the league. But if it stays 11 versus 11, I think it turns out to be a totally different game.”

Clydebank are travelling down to Greenfield Park to play Shettleston in the league, after the Bankies received a bye for the first round of the Scottish Junior Cup.

Shettleston are one of the five unbeaten teams left in the league, picking up one win and three draws so far in the Super First Division.

Kick-off is at 2pm on Saturday.
