Duntocher professional golfer John Henry finished tied 11th at the East Sussex National stage of the EuroPro tour after a strong final day.
Henry finished with a final day score of three under, after carding a score of one under over the previous two days, his strongest finish on a final day since he started competing in the EuroPro again this year.
He picked up £621.25 as a result of the strong finish, and has now moved up to 42nd place in the tour event, his highest rank since starting on the tour.
It could have been even better for Henry, however a late flurry of double bogeys on the second day left him frustrated.
He said: “It went pretty good on Friday, I scored a few more putts than I did on the first two days.
“It was my best last round of the season, I hadn’t shot under par in the last round till Friday, and I had looked at the last round for the last few tournaments.
“I would like to start holing some more putts, I keep getting close with them and I had an eagle putt from 10 feet away on Friday and shaved the hole.”
He is hoping to push on this week at the Oxfordshire event.
Henry was competing in the Pro-Am event yesterday, after The Post went to print, and is competing in the full EuroPro tour event today.
