Duntocher professional golfer John Henry finished off his week at Caversham Heath Golf Club with a disappointing round of 83 in the EuroPro Tour event.
Henry carded a +8 final-day round after making the cut and being in a strong position to push on.
But he said the course was a punishing one and one you had to make gambles on to play well.
He said: “How the course is set up this week, The greens were quite small and quite slopey so you can’t play for the safe side of the green. You need to try and get as close to the pin as you can. Which is a risk and a reward that when you miss the green or you hit the green.
“I felt I hit quite a lot of good shots and I came away with 10 over par, 83, my worst score of the year by five shots.
“I put it down to not hitting the ball as well as I did on the first few days and the strategy you need to play on the course.
“You can try and play it safe on those holes, but you’d be trying to 2 putt it from 50 foot away all day.
Henry heads to East Sussex this week for the Matchroom Sport Championship at Uckfield in the next round of the EuroPro Tour, and is currently -1 after day one.
