A Clydebank gym is to close its doors for good at the end of the month.

PF Gym located on Dumbarton Road will officially shut on April 30.

Bosses at the Dumbarton Road facility announced the news on Thursday and said it 'hadn't been an easy decision'.

In a statement published on the gym's Facebook page, it is noted that the closure is due to "many obstacles" with the building including high costs.

However, the owners say they hope to potentially bring the facility back in the future at a different location.

The statement reads: "With much regret and sadness, we wish to inform everyone that, unfortunately, we will be closing our doors at 195 Dumbarton Road for the final time at the end of April.

"As many of you know, we have had many obstacles affect us with the building and due to us having a horrible winter, costs have simply been too high to maintain.

"It is our aim to bring PF GYM back in the near future. We simply need to find another location and come back bigger and stronger, until then, thank you to every single one of you, who has shown us support and been with us on our journey over the years.

"You are all amazing and we appreciate you all so much. This has not been an easy decision and we hope you will all understand and welcome us back when we return."

Bankies expressed their sadness at the news in the comments.

One person said: "Devastated. This place has been a godsend for me. Not only has it helped my mental health, and my overall fitness, but I have found a community and made some life-long friends."

A second commented: "I am absolutely gutted for you all. You created a wonderful place. Hoping it won't take long before you all find your feet again and bring back PF."

A third wrote: "Gutted to hear this. I know I haven't been at the gym for quite a while however, it is the best wee gym, with lots of banter and laughs.

"I hope you find a better premises and I am sure all the members will keep an eye out for a place also."
