A FOOTBALL club have paid tribute to victims of the Clydebank Blitz on its 83rd anniversary.

Bankies gathered together at Kilbowie St Andrews Parish Church to remember those who lost their lives during the air raids conducted by the Luftwaffe on March 14 and March 15, 1941.

And Clydebank FC laid a wreath at an event in memory of those who died during the disaster.

Writing on X, the club said: "83 years ago, the Clydebank Blitz devastated the town we call home and claimed the lives of 528 of our own.

"Today, we remember them and the events that took place across the 13th and 14th March 1941."
