PARENTS are being given another chance to get their young ones some swimming lessons after the waiting list reopened.
West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust - the arms-length body which runs the local authority's sports facilities - said it was once again accepting new sign-ups to its Learn to Swim Programme after previously having to shut the list due to the high demand.
In April, the swimming lesson waiting list was open for just two days after 500 applications were quickly submitted - resulting in a lack of open places for the programme.
At the time, the council vowed to reopen the sign-up once spaces became available.
Now, the leisure trust says there is again space on the waiting list for their swimming programme, designed for children over three years, for a 'short time.'
Kids can learn to swim at the following venues across the community:
- Meadow Centre – Children aged 3 + (Pre School) and Children aged 5 + (Skills 1)
- Vale Pool - Children aged 3 + (Pre School) and Children aged 5 + (Skills 1)
- Clydebank Leisure Centre - Children aged 3 + (Pre School) and Children aged 5 + (Skills 1)
Lessons are delivered over a 48-week period with a guarantee of at least 45 lessons per year.
There are no adult lessons offered as yet, although the trust says it is working to 're-establish' these.
Parents can find out more and sign-up for the waiting list here.
