A CLYDEBANK woman was arrested over a row about noisy neighbours.

Karine Arthur demanded officers to "stop telling her to calm down" after they attended Graham Avenue on June 25 last year.

She pleaded guilty at Dumbarton Sheriff Court to behaving in an abusive manner and repeatedly shouting and swearing at the cops.

Procurator fiscal Tiffany Chisholm said the police were called at around 10.20pm in relation to a different matter.

The 34-year-old immediately became hostile and aggressive towards cops. She shouted at them "f*** off" and "don't tell me to calm down".

Arthur, of Graham Avenue, was taken to Clydebank police station.

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry asked the fiscal depute in the hearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court this week if there was further background information as Arthur reported to social workers that there was trouble upstairs with a noisy party and police held her against the wall when they arrived.

Ms Chisholm told the court that Arthur's shirt was ripped and stained with blood.

Her lawyer Scott Adair added: "When the police attended she behaved in an inappropriate way and she should have known better given her previous convictions before the court.

"She would be willing to undertake unpaid hours."

The sheriff replied: "I don't want to set her up to fail."

Addressing Arthur, Sheriff Hendry said: "You have a history of offending. It is not the first time you have been in court.

"Police, it seems, were there to help you over a complaint you made. There is some back-up information but you overreacted to the situation and you find yourself standing in the dock again."

Arthur was placed on a community payback order for 18 months under social work supervision and ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.
